J15397 Location: Mid-South Priority: Immediate Search ID: J15397 Details: Location: Mid-South Region (Relocation Required, in-office role) Company: Confidential Building Components Manufacturer, approximately $12M annual volume Position Overview JobLine is recruiting a Design & Estimating Manager for an established component manufacturer known for engineered roof and floor truss packages and an active commercial and multifamily customer base.  This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing daily design and estimating workflow, improving coordination between sales and production, and keeping projects moving accurately and on schedule. Relocation is required. Reasonable relocation expenses are negotiable.  No offshore candidates will be considered. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day truss design and estimating operations, balancing workload, priorities, and deadlines. Provide hands-on design work as time allows. Manage and mentor a small team (typically 3–4 designers and 1 estimator, depending on workload). Coordinate closely with sales, scheduling, production, and purchasing to prevent disconnects and keep jobs on track. Review plans and scopes for completeness, constructability, and opportunities to optimize material usage and production efficiency. Establish and maintain clear department processes, standards, and accountability, including checklists and hand off procedures. Support quoting strategy, bid timing, and customer communication to maintain responsiveness and win-rate. Troubleshoot design, pricing, and production issues early, before they become job site or manufacturing disruptions. Ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and team throughput in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable being hands-on when needed, while still leading and developing others. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Compensation & Benefits Compensation:  Base in the 80's90's Structured bonus program based on total sales, paid monthly.  Gross 6 figures easily.  Benefits package available.
