About the Opportunity:
A well-established and financially strong building materials company is launching a new truss manufacturing operation in the Southeastern U.S. and is seeking a Senior Truss Designer to help build the design function from the ground up.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a startup-style environment backed by an established organization. You will play a key role in setting standards, supporting production ramp-up, and helping shape how the design department operates moving forward.

Salary: $85,000 to $120,000+ based on experience and contribution

Key Responsibilities:
-
Design roof and floor truss systems using Alpine or similar design software
-
Interpret architectural plans and structural requirements for a wide range of projects
-
Develop accurate, code-compliant truss layouts and engineered designs
-
Support the startup of a new truss operation, including design standards and workflows
-
Coordinate closely with sales, production, and management during ramp-up
-
Identify efficiencies in design, material usage, and production flow
-
Provide technical support and problem-solving across departments
Qualifications:
-
5+ years of truss design experience in a production environment
-
Experience with Alpine or comparable truss design software
-
Strong understanding of loading conditions, building codes, and structural design principles
-
Ability to work in a startup environment with evolving processes
-
Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities

Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach
