Select   Position: Single Family Truss Designer J15414 Location: South or Remote Priority: Immediate Search ID: J15414 Details: Truss Designer – Single Family Residential | Carolinas & North Georgia | Remote or Relocation Options JobLine is recruiting for multiple Truss Designers to support residential construction projects throughout the Carolinas and northern Georgia. This role is focused on single-family custom homes, with some townhome work, and does not involve large multifamily projects. This employer is actively expanding their design team and is open to hiring multiple designers, including established teams that are looking to move together into a stronger long-term opportunity. Position Overview This position is responsible for producing accurate, detailed pre-construction drawings and supporting documentation required for residential structural approval and production. The role works closely with internal teams and third-party partners to ensure designs meet code requirements and can be efficiently manufactured and built in the field. Key Responsibilities • Develop detailed, dimensioned floor plan drawings with accurate layout and structural considerations • Perform header sizing using gravity and uplift load calculations • Lay out roof systems using standard truss profiles to achieve efficient and buildable designs • Coordinate with third-party HVAC designers to support complete system integration • Produce electrical layouts including circuiting and load diagrams • Work with external engineering partners to complete bracing, wind, seismic, and structural calculations requiring professional engineer approval • Apply and maintain working knowledge of applicable building codes including IRC, NEC, and HUD standards • Begin development of early-stage production details such as window bucks and related shop drawings Qualifications and Skills • Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents, plans, and construction-related materials • Effective communication skills with the ability to work with internal teams, customers, and external partners • Ability to present technical information clearly and professionally • Solid understanding of math concepts including geometry, trigonometry, ratios, and applied calculations used in structural design • Problem-solving ability in practical, real-world construction and design scenarios Compensation • Hourly - $30-40hr, plus overtime. • Benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, disability options, and retirement programs. • Remote or will offer reasonable relocation assistance for in-office.
