Design Manager – Trusses, Wall Panels & EWP (J-15420)Job Type & Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Location: Eastern Ontario Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 DOE + Performance-Based Bonus Job Summary: Our client is a well-established and growing structural component manufacturer located in Eastern Ontario. They are actively seeking an experienced and highly capable Design Manager to lead a large, high-volume design department. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily output and accuracy of a team producing wall panels, trusses, and Engineered Wood Products (EWP). Responsibilities: Directly supervise, mentor, and manage a large team of 14 to 18 designers. Oversee the daily design schedule, workflow distribution, and departmental output utilizing MiTek Management. Ensure rigorous quality control and accuracy for all wall panel, truss, and EWP designs before they are released to the production floor. Act as the primary technical liaison between the design department, production floor, and external clients to resolve complex structural issues. Conduct performance reviews and drive continuous improvement within the design team.
Qualifications: Extensive proven experience in structural component design, specifically covering wall panels, trusses, and EWP. Previous leadership experience successfully managing a design team (managing a team of 10+ is highly preferred). High-level proficiency with MiTek design software and MiTek Management platforms. Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
