Position: Territory Sales Representative – Component Manufacturing J15422

Location: Florida
Priority: Immediate Search
ID: J15422

Details:

This opportunity is for an experienced truss industry professional who wants to use their technical and operational knowledge in a customer-facing role. Our client is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to work with component manufacturers on design technology, production systems, equipment integration, and plant operations.

The position combines technical support, customer development, training, and problem solving. Rather than simply selling a product, you will work with customers to understand how their operation functions, identify opportunities for improvement, and help implement solutions that make their design and manufacturing processes more effective.

A strong candidate will understand what happens throughout a component manufacturing operation and be able to communicate effectively with everyone from designers and production personnel to managers and company owners.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with component manufacturers to evaluate operational and technical needs

  • Assist customers with implementation and use of truss design software and related systems

  • Provide software and product demonstrations, on-boarding, technical training, and continuing support

  • Help customers integrate design technology, production systems, and manufacturing equipment

  • Evaluate workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency throughout the operation

  • Troubleshoot design, production, workflow, and system-related problems

  • Coordinate with internal technical and sales teams to develop appropriate customer solutions

  • Develop strong working relationships with existing and prospective customers

  • Visit customer facilities for implementation, training, technical support, and other projects

  • Travel extensively from October through March, with considerably less travel during the remainder of the year

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience with truss design, component manufacturing, or a closely related operation

  • Working knowledge of the component manufacturing process, including sales, estimating, design, production, and delivery to the jobsite

  • Experience using MiTek, Alpine, Simpson, or comparable truss design software

  • Ability to understand technical problems and explain solutions clearly

  • Strong communication skills when working with technical and non-technical customers

  • Previous customer support, training, technical service, or sales experience is beneficial

  • Ability to organize your schedule, manage projects, and work independently

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $75,000 to $90,000

  • Performance incentives with typical total compensation targeted at $90,000 to $120,000+

  • Medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other company benefits

  • Career growth opportunity with an organization focused on technology and the component manufacturing industry

The Opportunity

For someone who has spent years working in truss design or manufacturing, this can be an opportunity to take that experience beyond a single plant.

Instead of solving problems for one operation, you will work with multiple component manufacturers, helping them improve workflow, implement technology, train employees, and make better use of their software and equipment.

If you understand truss manufacturing, enjoy working directly with customers, and like solving both technical and operational problems, this position offers a logical progression into technical sales and support.
