Select   Position: General Manager - Truss Division Location: South Priority: Immediate Search ID: J15424 Details: Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a roof and floor truss manufacturing operation serving residential construction markets. The facility currently generates approximately $10 million in annual sales, with a goal of returning to $15 million+. The General Manager will have responsibility for plant operations while also being involved in purchasing materials, pricing and costs, sales, customer service, and engineering. This position requires a strong understanding of truss manufacturing operations combined with the financial and management skills necessary to improve productivity, efficiency, profitability, and customer service. Responsibilities Lead plant operations including production, safety, quality, maintenance, scheduling, shipping, and inventory management. Manage and develop production supervisors, leads, and support teams within a workforce of 100+ employees. Improve productivity, efficiency, profitability, manufacturing flow, equipment utilization, and labor performance. Monitor production output, labor costs, quality, on-time delivery, and safety performance. Participate in material purchasing and inventory management. Manage and monitor pricing, costs, budgets, and operational financial performance. Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and capital improvement recommendations. Work with sales and customer service to meet customer expectations and commitments. Coordinate with engineering and Design through a dotted-line relationship with the Design Department. Ideally have the ability to manage the company's existing EWP Design Department. Design experience is preferred but is not required for an otherwise qualified candidate. Develop supervisors and frontline leadership through coaching, training, and employee development. Maintain a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, quality, service, and operational performance. Experience Qualified candidates should have 5+ years of experience as a General Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or similar senior manufacturing leader. Experience in roof truss, floor truss, wall panel, or structural component manufacturing is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of truss production processes, manufacturing flow, scheduling, production optimization, labor management, budgeting, cost control, and operational forecasting. Experience managing a manufacturing facility with 100+ employees is desired. Candidates should also have demonstrated success developing supervisors and frontline leadership and improving safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance. EWP and/or component design experience is preferred but is not required. Compensation Salary range is $100,000–$150,000, plus incentives. The total compensation package is negotiable for the right candidate. Benefits include company-sponsored benefits and a Principal 401(k) plan. Benefits become available after 60 days of employment.
