Our client, an established component manufacturer with more than 60 years in the industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Truss Designer with strong Mega-Multifamily experience. This position may be remote or based at the company's office.
This is not a typical production residential design position. The successful candidate must be comfortable designing large, complex Mega-Multifamily projects where building size, multiple levels, loading conditions, structural details, project specifications, and plan coordination require significant technical experience and attention to detail.
The company has an established design department and a long history of manufacturing roof and floor truss systems for single-family, multifamily, and commercial construction.
Responsibilities
- Design roof and floor truss systems using Alpine software.
- Design large and complex Mega-Multifamily projects.
- Review architectural and structural plans, specifications, details, and project requirements.
- Design complex roof and floor systems involving multiple building types, elevations, loading conditions, and structural requirements.
- Coordinate truss designs with architectural and structural plans and identify conflicts or missing information.
- Work with customers, engineers, and internal departments to resolve design-related project issues.
- Prepare accurate layouts, truss designs, placement information, and supporting design documentation.
- Review project revisions and make required design changes while maintaining accuracy and project schedules.
- Provide technical assistance on difficult design and field issues when needed.
- Manage assigned design projects and priorities with limited supervision.
- Maintain the accuracy and productivity expected of a senior-level designer.
Experience Required
Candidates should have substantial experience designing roof and floor trusses using Alpine software. Strong experience designing Mega-Multifamily projects is highly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience with large projects involving multiple buildings, multiple levels, complex roof and floor systems, significant plan coordination, and the technical challenges associated with Mega-Multifamily construction.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Senior-level roof and floor truss design skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Alpine truss design software.
- Significant multifamily or Mega-Multifamily truss design experience.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural construction documents.
- Strong understanding of truss loading, building geometry, structural requirements, and component design principles.
- Ability to identify plan conflicts and develop appropriate design solutions.
- Ability to manage large design projects and multiple priorities independently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Consistent accuracy and attention to detail.
Remote or In-Office
Experienced designers may work remotely. Remote candidates must have the experience and self-management skills necessary to handle complex Mega-Multifamily projects with limited supervision and communicate effectively with the company's design and production teams.

Schedule
The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, averaging approximately 40-45 hours per week. The company typically finishes early on Friday afternoons.
Compensation
$80,000-$100,000+ depending on experience, Mega-Multifamily expertise, Alpine proficiency, and demonstrated design capabilities.
