Overview:
Senior component manufacturing executive with more than 25 years of experience leading roof and floor truss, wall panel, EWP, lumber, and component hardware operations. His background includes general management, plant operations, design management, purchasing, inventory control, pricing, sales, customer service, safety, maintenance, logistics, forecasting, and P&L responsibility. He has managed workforces exceeding 50 employees and currently directs a 45-person truss operation through managers responsible for operations, production, design, administration, and maintenance.
In his current position, he helped grow annual sales from approximately $3 million to more than $9 million while improving margins by 34.7%. He directed nearly $2 million in machinery, electrical, and facility improvements. Automation, improved scheduling, and changes to material flow increased monthly production output by 79% while reducing eight positions through attrition. He also implemented daily safety communication and workstation-level quality tracking, contributing to 18 months without an accident.
He remains involved with production and design, including difficult design conditions, optimization, special connections, quoting, quality control, and schedule coordination. He has trained three Production Managers, including manufacturing leaders recruited from outside the truss industry. Earlier accomplishments include generating approximately $200,000 in labor savings through Lean improvements, doubling truss plant sales, expanding component product lines, leading plant relocations and startups, and improving production from 70 to 130 board feet per man-hour.
